The annual Youth Wilderness Survival Workshop will be on Saturday, March 7, from Noon to 3 PM, at John James Audubon State Park. This is aimed at those ages 10-16. If you have someone in the family that likes to explore, or you have a family vacation planned for a hiking/camping adventure, this may be a good base for developing outdoor and situational awareness. Hike-preparedness and basic survival skills will be discussed. Whoever attends will get hands-on practice at knot-tying, primitive fire building and debris hut shelter making. Cost: $15, registration deadline is March 4; Fee is non-refundable after March 4. Workshop will take place rain or shine.
