Take A Walk Through Henderson’s History

What if the buildings around you could talk?

Now they can.

The Historic Downtown Henderson Audio Walking Tour has launched, offering visitors and locals a new way to explore one of Kentucky’s most scenic historic districts.

This free, self-guided tour takes you through downtown Henderson, revealing stories behind iconic homes, buildings, and landmarks. Highlights include the famous North Main Pink House, the Central Park Fountain, the A League of Their Own home, and much, much more. There are many hidden secrets tucked away along the way!

As you walk, local Hendersonian David Salisbury serves as your guide, sharing the stories that shaped us. From grand Victorian homes built during Henderson’s tobacco boom to architectural treasures that have stood for generations, each stop uncovers a unique piece of local history.

The best part? You can enjoy the tour anytime. Grab a coffee from a downtown café, lace up your shoes, and spend an afternoon exploring Henderson at your own pace. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a lifelong resident, you’ll discover something new.

Find the audio tour in our Visitors Guide. You can pick one up at The Depot Welcome Center, 101 N Water ST, Henderson, KY, or click here to begin your walk! If you have any questions, The Depot is right next door to stop 1. We love to help!

History is everywhere around all you have to do is press play.
