DESCRIPTION:It will be the spring equinox during our next free monthly guided hike.  Join our naturalist on the nature preserve trails at John James Audubon State Park on March 21st at 10 AM\, for the “Think Spring” hike. DESCRIPTION:Children ages 6-9 can participate in the Children’s Survival Skills Workshop on Saturday\, March 14th from Noon -2:30 PM\, at John James Audubon State Park. Each will learn some basic skills to feel less frightened and more confident about being alone or lost. If your child became separated from you and lost in the woods\, perhaps knowing a few outdoor skills could aid survival until rescuers came. DESCRIPTION:The annual Youth Wilderness Survival Workshop will be on Saturday\, March 7\, from Noon to 3 PM\, at John James Audubon State Park. This is aimed at those ages 10-16. If you have someone in the family that likes to explore\, or you have a family vacation planned for a hiking/camping adventure\, this may be a good base for developing outdoor and situational awareness. DESCRIPTION:If you’re looking for something unique to do this Valentine’s Day\, plan to attend the Sweetheart Hike on Saturday\, Feb. 14th\, at 1 PM.  It’s not a couples-only event–bring family\, friends\, or whoever you’d like along to this free\, guided hike. SUMMARY:Audubon's Early Kentucky Drawings Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Stop by the John James Audubon Museum to view a FREE exhibit about Audubon’s early drawings that he did while living in Kentucky. This display features 29 reproduced images of original drawings by Audubon that are housed in the Harvard University Houghton Library collection. These drawings show Audubon’s skill level while living in Kentucky and date between 1808 and 1815. This exhibit includes woodpeckers\, shorebirds\, orioles\, and even a couple of species that are now extinct! This exhibit is on display in the Museum foyer\, which is the first room you walk into when entering the Museum.
