Audubon State Park is known for its ephemeral wildflowers, and they are beginning to emerge! Come experience the beauty of the nature preserve woods in early spring, by attending the annual Wildflower Extravaganza on Saturday, April 1. There will be several activities to choose from: Short, guided Wildflower Walks over paved paths at 9 A.M. and again at 11 A.M., lasting approx. 45 minutes each; “Spring Wildflowers of Audubon Park” presented in the Audubon Museum Theater by Park Naturalist, Lisa Hoffman, at 10 A.M., lasting about 45 minutes; and a longer 1-mile guided Wildflower Walk & Scavenger Hunt over park trails at 1 P.M., lasting 1-1.5 hours. Wear sturdy shoes for being outdoors and dress for the day’s temperatures. Event weather announcements will be made to park Facebook and Instagram pages.
