Visit the Audubon State Park Museum now through June, for the new “M. Bernard Loates Exhibit.” Who is M. Bernard Loates? Many artists have attempted to reproduce John James Audubon’s work, but few have done so as well as the Canadian artist and printer, M. Bernard Loates, who reproduced some of Audubon’s best-known Birds of America prints. The M. Bernard Loates Edition pioneered new artist techniques, new proprietary lithographic techniques, and the final finished edition included custom-made paper cut to the same size as Audubon’s work. Each print is signed, numbered, and corresponds with a bibliographic entry featuring some of M. Bernard Loates’ personal drawings. This exhibit features the Little Blue Heron, Sandhill Crane, Great Egret, and more, and is free to enjoy! Audubon Museum winter hours are Wed-Sun, 9 am to 4 pm. After March 8, the Museum is open daily, 10 am to 5 pm.
