Jim Gustin seemed to be born in the wrong place at the wrong time. He grew up in LA, listening to Southern Rock bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allmans and Marshall Tucker Band.
Jim believes Southern Rock is more than just geography. It is a combination of rock, country and blues. This defines Jim Gustin. He cut his teeth playing the hard rock and metal clubs of the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, but he never totally fit in. “You’re too bluesy,” people would say. But, as a semi finalist in the 2020 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Jim no longer feels like he has to choose between rock, country, or blues. He plays it all!
When you hear his soulful smoky rasp and his firery guitar playing, you will hear all of his influences coming together to form the perfect recipe!
